Exporting your data

Profit lets you export your data in two formats: CSV and JSON.

On macOS, choose File → Export.

On iOS and iPadOS, choose Portfolio → Export.

The CSV export includes only your transactions, whereas the JSON export includes transactions, accounts, and instruments—complete with splits and ticker symbols. Price data isn’t included in either export because it can be redownloaded from the internet.

For backup purposes, we recommend performing a JSON export.
